A Quit Smoking Study In Farranree Is Starting Soon

Do you want to quit smoking? A new research study looking at helping women to quit smoking is coming to the Northside of Cork starting the 26th of September in Spriggs Road Community Building and Farranree Resource Centre. The Irish Cancer Society are looking to recruit 50 women as part of this study.

We Can Quit2 wants to find out how best to support women to quit smoking. They will do this by carrying out research comparing a “community stop smoking programme”. This is specifically designed for women with a stop smoking service, provided by HSE stop smoking staff. We Can Quit2 is now looking for women in the Churchfield/Gurranabraher/Shandon or Fair Hill/Farranferris areas in Cork who smoke daily but want to try to stop smoking. If you are over 18 years and not pregnant you may be eligible to take part in the research, through either a 12 week group support programme or a one to one Quit service.
